Undergradutes: Get a New Laptop with N10,000 Deposit
Registered students of Nigerian universities can now get a brand new laptop with N10,000 deposit. This scheme was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology.
The Federal Ministry of Communication Technology in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency has initiated a Computer Ownership Scheme(COS) to enable registered students of Nigerian universities to acquire a new laptop with top-notch configuration.
The Scheme aims to:
*.Facilitate students (undergraduates) ownership and accessibility to computers;
*.Boost knowledge or build capacity through internet-available educational resources; and
*.Enhance the use of personal computers nationally.
Under the scheme, registered students have access to a TEN THOUSAND NAIRA (N10, 000:00)grant which will serve as a deposit (for the pay-at-once option) or equity contribution (for the loan option) towards the acquisition of the laptop.
Interested students are to register atwww.cosportal.com.ngand select preferred payment method based on the options indicated below:
PAY AT ONCE LOAN TO SPONSOR / PAY IN INSTALMENTS
(Please note under this option, applicants need a sponsor as the Central bank of Nigeria does not allow granting of loans to students.)
*.Specify that you want to pay at once
*.Fill in all details including Matric. Number.
*.CITS confirms your status as a student.
*.N10,000:00 will be deposited to the OEM's bank on the applicant's behalf.
*.Pay the balance for the PC to the OEM's bank.
*. Specify that you want to pay in instalments.
*.Fill in all your details including Matric. Number.
*.The sponsor will be notified of the registration via email.
*.CITS confirms your status as a student.
*.Your sponsor is provided a link via which they request a loan from any of the participating banks and proceeds to visit a branch of the bank to apply for same.
*.The bank selected by your sponsor would receive your sponsor's application and review it.
*.Once the bank approves your sponsor's loan, the initial deposit of N10,000 is paid on your behalf into the bank.
The laptop vendor, an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), initiates the process of delivering the PC requested and you will be kept abreast of progress.
Take delivery of the laptop.
