Department of Transport Management Technology Gets Professional Accreditation.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has presented Certificate of Accreditation to the Department of Transport Management Technology, School of Management Technology, FUTA. While receiving the Certificate, the Vice-Chancellor , Professor Adebiyi Daramola , said all courses run in FUTA have been fully accredited by the National Universities Commission and relevant professional bodies. While thanking the body for the donation of reading materials to enhance the training of students, the Vice-Chancellor assured that the materials would be fully utilized. The National Executive Director of the Institute, Mr. Francis Ehiguese who presented the accreditation certificate, appealed to the management of FUTA to uphold and maintain the top position it has always been known for amongst its contemporaries. He also informed the management that the Institute has established a young members forum, where young professionals’ growth and development programmes are implemented, urging FUTA

1.8 million graduates flush in to the labour market yearly

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, on Tuesday in Abuja said no fewer than 1.8 million graduates in the country move into the labour market every year. Okonjo-Iweala, who is also the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, made this known during a meeting with delegates of the Arewa Youth Forum on issues of youth development in the northern part of the country. She said that the data was generated by National Bureau of Statistics and that it was to enable the Federal Government to ascertain the level of youth unemployment and come up with policies to address it. She said, “I am proud to say that after two months of methodological work, the statisticians have come up with the data that 1.8 million people in the country enter the job market yearly. “I am happy to tell you that last year we were able to create 1.6 million jobs.
